[ A picturesque bay on Stewart Island ]

This photo was taken on a family holiday to Stewart Island, which is a reasonably large island further south than New Zealand's South Island. It is covered in native bush, and has abundant native wildlife.

[ Lake Dunstan at sunrise ]

This is a photo of sunrise over Lake Dunstan in the central South Island. Dunstan is a man made lake, created when the Clyde Dam was constructed on the Clutha River. What used to be part of the town of Cromwell is now under the lake.

[ Shoreline of Lake Wanaka ]

This photo is looking along the shore of Lake Wanaka in the central South Island, while on a winter holiday. There are a number of well known ski-fields near Wanaka, including Treble Cone and Cardrona.

[ Looking over Lake Wanaka ]

This photo is looking directly out over Lake Wanaka. The central lakes district of Otago has many lakes nestled in spectacular mountains, making for a combination of excellent skiing and beautiful scenery. This lake is only an hours drive from Queenstown, a well known winter ski destination.
